I am the girl that waited till the 38th week of pregnancy hits to get maternity photos taken.  Yes.  So I can fully document how huge I have become.  Most gals are sensible enough to schedule pictures documenting ’the glow’.  But not me.  No.  I wait till this glowing gal becomes a super nova (or am I the black hole of food).

Anyhoo.  I bribed my little sister (she’s a doll who is super talented at pretty much everything…including being AWESOME) to come over and shoot some photos.  It was made very clear that she was to do her best to make me look as pretty as possible.  And I am uber-pleased with the results.  You wanna see?  No judging please :)   I am very vulnerable right now.  (vulnerable means jiggly…right?)

Most of the photos were shot in the woods behind our house.  We have a creek back there and it was perfect for a country inspired shoot.  I also pulled Jeremy away from Call of Duty long enough for a few pics in the yard.

Lori (my lil’ sis) used my camera – it’s a Canon Rebel XSi and my new 50 mm lens (remember I got it for Christmas?).  Yeah.  Most times I would dang her for her quick learning skills…but in this case, I fall to my knees and thank goodness that she can pick up a camera and do amazing.

Anyone else out there schedule a photo shoot a little past their prime?  Or maybe you also climbed out on a fallen tree over a shallow creek nine months pregnant?  Let me tell ya…combine the fact that it is pretty much impossible to move with the fact that the photographer is getting attacked by giant weeds and the trickling noise of the creek…and well, let’s just say that Kegels do not prepare you enough.

I love the one where you’re sitting in the pink dress because it looks like your sweet tummy is a wrapped package. That the baby bump is housing a boy just makes me giggle with all the pink and ruffles :)

Aw! So cute! How in the world did you make it across that log?!

Wow – these are gorgeous! I have to say, I think I like them even better than the “28-week” maternity photo counterparts. Lovely and congrats – can’t wait to see him.

    Hi Miss Katie:

Your pictures are adorable! We should all be so lucky to look as spry at 9 months! (if you’re faking it, I’m sold!)

My girlfriend (also knocked up, but a bit behind you) is “dying” over your adorable pink polka dot dress… I’m on the west coast, she’s on the east. If I showed up with that dress when I visit her next month I would be a total super hero. So, is there any chance you could tell me where you got it?

Thanks so much and keep up the good work! : )

      Hi Jessica -
I wish I could be more help in the dress area – I got it at a consignment event. It was from Gap – so maybe you’ll have more luck on ebay? You definitely are a good friend for trying to track one down! Congrats to your friend (for having a best bud like you and for the new family addition!).

Love these pics! You make it look easy to balance on that tree! You’ll have to take a pic with Will and you on that tree when he’s big enough. :)

Good for you for getting it done. They’ll mean so much in the future, but I understand how being pregnant can suck the energy out of you. I kept putting off my maternity shoot, but finally had it done during my 38 week. I ended up having my baby last week during week 39.

    Good luck with your delivery!

Wow, this is the first time I’m seeing these! They turned out soooo beautiful. I love the one of you when you are laying down and the camera is behind your head. So pretty! You need to make an album and put it out in your living room!!!
