I LOVE the video, Katie, it’s so creative and cute. Did it take ages to shoot though? I’ve always wanted to make one but it seems intimidating, lol.
It took about six hours from start to finish…but I did spend quite a bit of time the night before writing down ideas and trying to find the right song.

I’m a lurker and trying to be more of a participant – ha. Anyway, congrats on the new offspring. Love your blog and YHL and read both EVERY SINGLE DAY! I like the Craft Wars show but I’m not really liking the judges…wait until you watch the other episodes.
I watched two separate episodes and in general I felt like it was just weird…. Like the wedding wishing tree that was completely unfunctional…where did you hang the wishes?!? And then the judges were like you should have sanded the Christmas tree topper plexiglass…really? Because I didn’t realize this was construction wars. Just overall the judging is weird.

What a precious video! Congrats! You will love having 2 boys. Mine are 2 years apart and it is so fun watching them grow and become best buddies. They are now 2 and 4 years old and finally reaching the age where they actually enjoy each other’s company and love playing together. Get ready to hear these phrases a lot: “Mommy, he’s trying to get my toys!” “Mommy get him away from my stuff!” “Mommy, he happens to be glancing in the general direction of my toys and he is in the same room with them, therefore will definitely steal them, so do something!!!” (Ok, I added that last one to represent my oldest son’s thoughts.) It’s lots of fun though!

Katie….this is a late comment, but I have questions about that video…
Ok, first, Congratulations!! I was secretly hoping you’d have a girl, since I have a daughter so I wanted to see all your fun girly ideas to copy. But your family is such a good boy family and Will and that little guy are lucky to have a big yard and rough and tumble sentiment and more tools and vehicles than can be believed to grow up around. And having my own sister I am super close to and love to pieces and my husband having a brother who we was extremely close to I have to say that there is a special bond and you get from having a close sibling of the same gender. So Will is a lucky little guy! Unfortunately, you are now even more outnumbered. Go buy yourself something pink as a consolation prize.
Anyway, I’m really commenting because I was hoping you would post something about the making of that video. I would love to make something similar (but not so well thought out) but have no idea what software you’d need or where to start.
Well, I just used Windows Movie Maker and uploaded the 200+ photos and made them pretty speedy (they only showed for less than a second)…so it’s really easy…just lots of pics and planning
