Disclaimer – This is a sponsored post and giveaway brought to you by Arhaus. All opinions are 100% my own.
One of the most neglected areas of our house is the end of our upstairs hallway. It wasn’t ever pretty. It wasn’t ever functional. It just ended up as a catch-all….sometimes it had a bookcase….sometimes random junk and in the last year it had a too-small console table and a few randoms. It was like the forgotten brother of Taylor Swift….oh yes…there is another Swiftie out there…shocking I know.
The area is one zone that I wanted to make really pretty. The boys generally don’t ever go down to that end of the hall and I feel like having an area that is a kid-free zone is rare so I should make it as lovely as possible. Right?! It’s like a moment of sanity could happen right there! So when Arhaus contacted us, I immediately knew the spot to show off their beautiful stuff. It was this hall!
I don’t want to gloss over the fact that I got an email from Arhaus. I mean…y’all…this is like getting kissed by the boy you like in high school….who happens to be the quarterback, the valedictorian, the head volunteer at the local dog shelter and likes to read to kindergarteners on Thursdays. He also is helpful to his mama. That’s how that email feels. Arhaus has always been one of my favorite brands because their designs are simply beautiful. Their developers travel all over the world to find their artisans and it shows. Their furniture is soooo good. And their decor has just enough oomph to feel new and classy enough to stay chic forever. I often peruse their site to get inspiration and to see exactly what they are selling and how they style it because their designs are always on point. All that to say – it’s a pinch-me moment to work with them on this area of my home.
So the first thing that I did was go through the entire site and create a style inspiration folder. This approach helps me with direction because I am not a professional designer or stylist. I uploaded all the pictures that I loved onto Pinterest if you want to see all the things that I was digging! Then I photoshopped everything into place so I could see what it would look like. As you can see, I didn’t know if I was gonna go with a storage route or a display route…..
Both had strong arguments. On one hand, everyone loves storage. But the idea of having a lamp on that end of the hall was nice too. It also felt right to have a table and mirror over there….it just spoke my language. In the end, I decided that combining the two looks (wallpaper from one and the decor from another) was the way to go. This was my photoshopped plan of attack…
My mom came over to help me put up this Breezy Blossoms wallpaper and it was immediately love at first sight. It instantly added style and interest in an otherwise boring spot.
Then we brought in all the beautiful pieces from Arhaus. Prepare to be in love. I think that means put on some lip gloss and get a napkin for all the drool. Here is my very beautiful hall reveal….
Crazy good right!?!
The first thing we did was hang the Thomas brass round mirror. I am OBSESSED with this thing. It’s heavy and sturdy and has a finish that makes me rethink every other finish in my house.
My favorite detail is the hook and loop in brass at the top. It really pops against the wallpaper and almost is equestrian in feel. The mirror is almost three feet across so it’s BIG and brings so much brightness to this end of an otherwise boring spot.
Below the mirror we placed this open console table. I love that it shows off more wallpaper and is exactly the perfect size.
I always choose furniture pieces that I can’t DIY….and this definitely fits that bill. This table is called the Bertogne Console Table and I could never make something so detailed and finished so well. It is hand carved out of solid oak with curved inside corners and a finger groove on the sides that seamlessly blends into the legs. And can we just talk about the finish for one second?
It has a warm chestnut stain that brings out all that lovely detail and is lacquered to last. Sometimes I walk down to the end of the hall just so that I can touch it. That’s how good it is. (oh and I should mention that Arhaus uses sustainable materials like recycled natural resources. Think copper and stone! And they don’t ever use wood from endangered rain forests. Brava Arhaus!)
As for the items on the console, I went with this bowl on one end and filled it with a fern to bring in some color and life. The stack of books is topped with a vintage camera that my grandfather gave me.
Check out all that detail on the bowl! (it’s called the Cordova bowl and it’s hand-hammered out of sheets of aluminum!)
I balanced out the fern on the other side with the lamp that I needed! Guys…I have literally never seen a more beautiful lamp. It’s called the Adrano table lamp in gold.
Do you see what I mean about their items feeling new and chic but also classic and not too modern? It’s so my style.
Also here is a side by side of that lamp so you can see that texture of the linen shade when the light is turned on. Texture is one of my absolute favorite things….more than color even….give me all the texture.
I wanted to include this beautiful bed scarf too….it is just draped over this table for now but I can pretty much guarantee that it will be making rounds all over the house….including on my person as a scarf. The blue roses are gorgeous.
And I put next to the lamp a hand sculpted Lotus platter that is a perfect tray for holiday items like this pumpkin (or special ornaments come December!). I love the organic edge and the way it looks one-of-a-kind.
Below the console, I didn’t have a ton of room (it is the end of a hall) so I included a garden stool that again brings the texture. This one is called the Dot Garden stool. I can see this also being a piece that makes its way into all different rooms….as a side table, a place to sit and put on shoes or even as a plant stand.
The Hildago blue floor basket next to it is a catchall….I love the two toned look and the size is perfection. And if you have been eyeing that Batik pillow – you should see the rest of the ones they have. They are perfect showcase pillows….the kind that you get a compliment on and people think you have stunning taste. Not kidding.
So what is your favorite part? I literally can not pick. I love EVERY. BIT.
And I know it’s just a hall….but I am contemplating if it’s too weird to show my delivery guy. I mean….everyone should see this right!?
And because side-by-sides are always the most impactful, here is the before and after….
