DIY To-Do List 2011
I promised to give ya our To-Do list today. And I’ve decided that in honor of my past days of cheerleading, I am going to cheer it to you. I have a mean high V.
Ready?OKAY! (clasps hands in front of chest)
On second thought, I don’t want to cheerlead ever again. It required way too much…umm…bouncing. and stretching. and energy. And I need to save all the energy I have for our upcoming projects. So here we go…
#1 – Will’s Pinkapalooza Room. Dee-sgusting. Seriously yuck. Grosser than the symptoms of a yeast infection. But you know what they say about nasty rooms? Well, they are the ones that benefit the most from a couple cans of paint. I’m thinking this is gonna be the most appreciated transformation.
#2 – The dining room. I can’t wait to repaint this room. As much as I love red (and I do LOVE red), this is too much for me. I’m feeling something easy, breezy beautiful…like a green gray.
#3 – The brass light fixture and the table need an overhaul to tie in with the rest of the room. I’m feelin’ a little country charm…
#4 - Along with the kitchen table makeover, I will need to add some different chairs. My mom gave me these freebies from her old kitchen set. At twenty plus years old, they will definitely need a little lovin’.
#5 - The painting marathon will continue in the basement – where the entertaining room (e-room for short) and the bar area will need several good coats to cover up that maroon.
#6 – Our front entrance is beggin’ for a mini makeover. I think some exterior paint on the doors and a little spraypaint on the light fixtures will take this sucker from blasé to HOORAY!
#7 – I’ve never actually painted cabinetry before that never had been painted before. Catch that? Yeah. I am gonna start small – laundry-room-four-door-and-a-nook small. Colored cabinetry here I come!
#8 – A little unorthodox but one of my projects is gonna be painting some art for the reading room. Hopefully it will balance out that uncentered window.
#8 – This stone column needs fixin and I plan to figure out how to get those unstuck stones stuck again.
#9 – See that little light in the center of the tennis court above the fence line? We need an outdoor outlet there for the upcoming nuptials of my sis. So that is definitely going to be a little project that gives big bang for the buck.
#10 – BIGGEST PROJECT PLANNED – The deck. The big partially stained splattered splintery moldy warped board deck. It needs a lot of work. Pressure washing (we don’t have a pressure washer), flipping the boards (gotta bang out all the nails & screw em back in), staining (never done that before) and sealing…that makes this our by far the most extensive project in our plans.
So there you have it…what’s on our docket for our True Value partnership. What’s on your To-Do list?
