2011 July 4
by Katie

Happy Fourth of July!

Since we are going to be doing loads of fun stuff today to celebrate our favorite summertime holiday, I thought this would be the perfect time to just share some patriotic looks around our house…

And this last one of Spike is just for fun…because at the end of today, I hope you are just like him…totally tuckered out.

Hope you have a wonderful and safe Independence Day!

p.s.  Tonight is the night to break out the sparklers and get spelling!  I’d love to see the photos of all your crazy designs!  Don’t know what the heck I am talking about?!  SPARKLER SPELLING!   Check out our old designs here and here!

Happy 4th Bower Family!! Is that fish? It looks delish. Is it as easy as it looks to make?

Love all the red, white and blue! That quilt-ish looking pillow is adorable! Did you make it yourself??

Sure did! It’s the most basic quilting technique for scraps…so easy and I was able to just make the cover for an extra lumbar pillow :)

You should give us a how-to – it looks beautiful!

I spy red-painted kitchen chairs!! I luuuurve them! We have the exact same table actually and I was wondering how I was going to deal with the matching two-toned chairs- the red goes with our color scheme as well. May have to pass this to the husband for consideration!

Love your house full of Americana, so classic!

I think you should sell sparkler spellings. My husband proposed on 7/4/03. I’d LOVE our last name, the date that we were engaged, and the date we were married, in a series. :)

We SPARKLER spelled. Thank you for the tutorial! So much fun.

Hope it’s okay to share a link.

I spy some red chairs! Looking forward to seeing how you navigate the two-toned table and chairs in a different color. Hope your 4th was fun. Can’t wait to see the pictures.

Spiderman! It cracked me up! You had lovely patriotic touches in your house – mine was limited to some brownie bites that I iced red, white and blue :o ) Wait, do the blue rooms and red rooms with white trim count?

You are really so talented. I saw the red chairs, too and am anxious to hear about them. I love all your pillows and maybe even covet the polka dot ones a bit. :) We did some sparkler spelling ourselves a few days ago, but no camera to capture it. Just eyeballs. Is the fabric banner like the one for Clara’s birthday on YHL? Oh, and your little boy looks just like the spokesbaby for some company – have you heard that before? I can’t remember if it’s diapers or food or what, but I know ever time I see it, I think, “Is that Will Bower?” :)

Oh heavens no it’s not like Sherry’s banner. That girl went over the top.
This one we used WAY back in the day for an old baby shower – and then I made another matching one for Will’s birthday party. I just cut out triangles with a pair of pinking shears and then sewed a ribbon across the top. Easy peasy underachieving.

That wreath is so cute- did you make it? I’ve seen a good tutorial on another blog for those little rosette “thingys” but yours look really great! I especially enjoy the last photo :)

Katie, I LOOOOOVE the sparklers idea and had so so much fun doing this both last night and tonight. I posted a couple of pics on my Facebook account tonight. I think I can share the link this way: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150303572304973.379028.616824972&l=3c26a78522
We just did our families last names and we also did some that said July 2011. Should make for a cute collage! That’s my plan anyway. :)
