Wedding = Success!
From the bottom of my stiletto’ed heels, thank you guys so SO much. During the entire wedding process, I can’t count the number of people that supported us, encouraged us, offered up wedding props and stuff for my sis to use, and most of all – prayed for the dang weather.
I am sooo happy to announce that it went down without a single hitch. Literally – the biggest wedding problem was that the food arrived early (better early than late!), the dj arrived without a ceremony amp (my mom had an extra though!), there was WAY too much beer (ohdarnright?!) and my sister accidentally stepped through the bottom hem of her gown during photos (but the hole was sooo small that you can’t even notice!). Basically it was the best wedding I’ve ever been to.
And yes, just so everyone knows…I voted she wear her hair down. (she went up for the ceremony and down for the reception).

All that to say – I didn’t take many photos. I was kinda running around like a rodent who had eaten an entire bottle of Excedrin to snap many pics. So I will have to wait till my sis gets her cd back from the photographer before sharing all the big day reveals. I do however have a couple posts drafted about our getting-the-house-ready process…so there is still gonna be a lot of mention about Norn’s big day in the days ahead.
And I did want to share this quickie photo of her tablesettings. I just love this simple centerpiece idea of a glass vase filled with rice topped off with a bit of florist foam stuffed full of baby’s breath. Actually it kinda reminds me of Norn…skinny white body topped off by a head of awesomeness. hmmm….interesting.
So once again – thank you thank you thank you. Now I’m off to take a nap before getting back to our regularly scheduled programming

as a former floral designer, curious about the babies breath – did they put something in the water to combat the smell of it? I know sometimes it can pack a punch (and smell like “babies’ breath” – hence the name!) I really love the way it looks, though.

This looks awesome. And, selfishly, can I say just what I needed? Sometimes it’s hard to keep what really matters in perspective for this wedding we are planning when you are bombarded by extravagant inspiration on every wedding site you find. But smiling siblings, moments with your dad, and a display that matches your maddening hair (I am in the same boat as your sister!) are all that’s really needed. Yup – we drug wood (yes drug is a word) outta the woods and drilled holes for the votives. Actually one of my friends brothers weddings had this and I loved the idea so I am glad Norn liked it too

Katie, will you post details on your dress as well? I am in a wedding next year and the bride has only established that her bridesmaids should wear dresses that are long and in “pastel colors”; no specific color, maker or design (she is really laid back and actually said she would love a multi-colored bridal party). So, as it is pretty much up to me to dress myself for the event, I would love to have a dress I could wear again. I LOVED what I saw of your dress! Thanks!
It’s from JCrew…I think it’s called Taryn and it comes in every color in the book. I got mine used off ebay for $20 plus shipping…so it’s definitely worth looking!
