i just took the tour of your dream home! i love the architectural elements throughout the house. your flooring choice was phenomenal. also the last photo is uber uber sweet!!! congratulations to all three of you and thanks so much for sharing with us.
Absolutely stunning. The wooden detailed moldings , the entryway, the arches, the space, …wow! Can’t wait to see what you do with the place ’cause I totally dig your style. ) The last picture with the two of you is priceless. Big, beautiful house is worthless if you don’t have someone you love to share it with.
We have no idea. It was a foreclosure and we got it for cheap.
You can probably show a builder the floorplans and they might be able to find something similar!

Your new home is gorgeous, once once you get it all decorated it is going to be stunning. You have great taste in decor can’t wait to see it all done!!
I totally love your bed (the one in your master bedroom). I am looking for something that is exactly in the same style, however I have no idea what to search for. Is it in a particular style or could you tell me where you bought it?
You have a very beautiful home. The molding is classical and stunning. The front porch is dreamy. Great find! I love reading through your blog and finding all the amazing makeovers and decorating you are doing with your new place. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
I absolutely love your new house and all that you are doing with it! The crazy question I have is….how did you go about finding it? It was a foreclosure, right? Did you join one of those foreclosure websites and find it on your own? Did you have a realtor? From all the hunting I’ve done lately, foreclosures are difficult to come across on your own. You were so fortunate to find such a gem…even if it took a bit of work!
Gorgeous houses, both of them. Just one question…. How many rooms are in your current house? You show pretty much an entire house and then mention that there are still like 12 rooms that haven’t been touched. Do you use all of those rooms?
We definitely use most of the rooms in the top two floors (there is one that is a future nursery that doesn’t get much action and the reading room doesn’t get used much but other than that – we live in the rest of the house)…now the basement is an entirely different story. literally and figuratively. There are a handful of rooms down there that have gotten zero action.

Hey guys! Just came across this wonderful blog and am so impressed by it. Such a beautiful home and family, it is inspiring what you have created on many levels.
Question: What do you guys do in regards to your gutters? Unless I missed it, there is no mention on the entire blog about maintaining gutters or green gardening ideas such as Rainwater Harvesting.

Hi Bowers,
I’m switching over my design blog addiction to a new email and must be having a brain cramp! Can’t find appropriate link to sign up for email subscription. Please take pity on poor pitiful me and either submit my plea or let me know how to do it! Adore your writings and am having fun reliving my thirties w/ you/yours! blessings, Barbara Z.
Thanks Lisa…the paint colors in our current home are not all known. The dining room was an oops paint (unknown) and the guest bath (the one with the red vanity) is Greige.
Hope this helps.

Your new home looks absolutely fabulous. Its very inspiring. I am planning to renovate my bathroom and i love your new bathroom. Where did you do the bathroom shopping? I still could not figure out . Any tips on this?
You’re home is absolutely ah-mazing! The size of your rooms is unbelievable. I can barely fit my king sized bed in my bedroom, much less a sitting area with a full couch.
Ah, the differences between Pacific Northwest homes and beautiful East Coast homes. (sigh) I’ll just live vicariously through you and your home.
Beautiful home and land to raise your two beautiful boys in. Can’t wait to see what other ideas and projects you have up your sleeves.
PS: Excited to meet your bestie tomorrow in Portland.
I’m wondering about the durability of that no dig fence you installed in the back yard? It’s been almost a year now. How has it held up? I’m considering fencing a small portion of my yard for a medium sized but very strong dog. I’m not sure if this fencing is a good idea or not. I worry if she jumps up on it I might be constantly putting it upright again. Would love to hear your thoughts.
It’s been great! I think that Will has run his push toys into it a few times but for the most part, I think the visual barrier keeps him away. I’m not sure if it would be great for a dog because it is just decorative though

My husband and I are considering building a new home. Your home is gorgeous and I love the floor plan. Do you mind me asking who the builder is?

Hi Katie,

Thanks!

We built it using the farmhouse plan from Ana White. You can punch that into the search bar for all the details

Beautiful homes and I’m sure the inside of your new home is no exception. I love the mezzanine style levels.

I use Feedburner…it’s a widget I believe that you can get through WordPress. Maybe they have a different way with different blog platforms?

after just reading your “prayer” blog from 2010, was very pleased to read that the house you prayed about was awarded to you. He is faithful.
Nice Photos… thanks for sharing with us..
