I absolutely love hearing from readers…all four of you.
If you want to drop me a line directly, I DO read each and every word…and as much as I would love to respond, there are just not enough hours in the day for that plus my extensive tanning bed regime…so please don’t be offended if I don’t write back right away or ever…know that I am cherishing your words, links, photos and jokes.

Hello Katie…. I was wondering if yall had made a button yet for the rest of us to put up on our blogs?? Thanks
~Brandi
Hi Katie,
My son is turning 1 in a couple of months and I love what you did with Will’s birthday invites. I was wondering if you would be willing to share how you did them, or I would love to buy the design off of you and simply change the wording to fit my party. Myemail address is [email protected]. Thanks for your help! Courtney
Hi Courtney,
I’m sorry but I don’t have the photoshop version – just the saved jpeg that I used for Wills. I did get my inspiration from Etsy though – maybe perusing there can turn up some fabulous barn yard invites

Hi Katie,
Is this the address to use to send photos for editing? I sent you an e-mail today so I hope so!
Thanks:)
Yup – that’s it!
xo – kb
Hi – I sent a picture in for editing but haven’t heard back. The webpage says 3 days turn around time -is it running longer now? or maybe you never received it?
If you haven’t heard a reply then please resend it. I get hundreds of emails each day and some get lost, missorted, etc.
Thanks!
xo – kb
Hi Katie – You replied that you received it on the 8th but I havent received anything back from you. Have you sent it and I somehow missed it?
thx! kelly
Hey Katie,
It was nice to meet you and your hubby today. I knew from your blog that you lived in te same town I just never thought i’d one day turn around and meet you. It was quite a surprise. I hope you enjoyed the service. Are you an your hubby members of the OC? Have you always lived in this area?
- Kari
That was so funny, wasn’t it?! Such a random place to meet! And we aren’t members – just exploring some new churches in the area.
It was good to meet you though! Jeremy & I chuckled about it later – since we always think that the only person that reads the blog is my mother

Hey, Katie! We moved to Augusta from Oregon a year ago and the first things one of my friends in Oregon told me was “You’ll be near Bower Power! She reminds me of you.” I had no idea what she meant until I got all blog-follow-y starting with YHL and that led me to you. So *that’s* what she meant! Not sure about the being like you except for the about the same age and stage in life, product of homeschool, hair color… and now the living in GA, I guess!
Anyway, thanks for the fun inspiration. I love your and Sherry’s relationship. You guys crack me up.
Hi Katie! This is totally random…but there is a show on Lifetime right now called The Picker Sisters and it is so awesome. I don’t know if you have heard of it but I thought of you because of your love of dumpster diving. Anyway…they totally see junk as something potentially beautiful and it doesn’t hurt that they are hilarious!! Hope you get to check it out!
Katie,
I know I have seen the source list on your blog before, but I can’t seem to find it again. I am wondering where you got your daybed from that was used in your old dressing room? I am not sure where you have it at the new house-sorry! We are looking for one similiar and IKEA has one but it is out of stock in our neck of the woods!
Thanks!
Yup – it’s from Ikea
xo – kb
Well, maybe that means the one that I want and it out of stock (they are retiring it) will be replaced by a newer model that I will also love! I couldn’t find yours on the website, so I am thinking it was retired as well! Thanks!
Heads up this person is using one of your pictures as her profile pictures!

Hi Katie!
I intended to write this note to wish you a very happy belated anniversary (my husband and I celebrated our 5th on 10.06!), but before I did, I read your post about Will and Jeremy “golfing”. I literally thought you might have looked out MY front window and were writing about my husband and 19 month old! As I am typing this, they are “golfing” with the SAME golf set, giggling, yelling “Dada, Bah (ball)!”, and chasing balls all over the beautiful fall leaves that are in our yard.
Anyway, the main reason (other than wishing you a happy ann.) was to tell you that I am an avid follower for several years, and that I think we live parallel lives! Thank you for all of your smiles and laughs and beautiful pictures that you post… Makes me feel like I have a “virtual” stay-at-home mommy friend!
Thanks again,
Sarah
Love your blog and visit frequently (sometimes via Young House Love) Yesterday I saw something disturbing on your site. The was an advertisement for some single group which had a model that looked just like you. I’m not sure if these are regional ads or if you approve of this ads? I thought you should know. Love your blog!
haha…that’s funny actually. And unless you know of the ad name – like the group itself, I can’t block it. Although, I must say, I have such a generic face that I kinda look like a lot of people. Hey that girl is brunette – she looks like me!

What colors did you use in your master bedroom and dining room in your current home? I really like the colors!
-N
Hi Nicole,
Actually our master bedroom was this color when we moved in – and I have no idea what shade it is. The dining room was painted with oops paint and I have no idea the real name of the color but it is very close to Olympic’s Sprig of Ivy.

Came across this on Pintrest Bacon candy canes, by urban outfitters. I think it might be calling your name yummmmmmmmm.
Hi Katie,
I just started reading your blog on a dedicated basis…you are awesome! I love how you tackle things and don’t get too serious and wrapped up in it. Makes me feel like I can take the leap & try DIY-ing things and that’s something considering I am so not a DIY-er. But I aspire to be!
Between reading your blog and Sherry and John’s YHL blog I’ll get there
Unrelated, your son Will is adorable! I have a 14 month old lil boy, Ashvin, so it’s nice to see/ read about your experiences with Will too. We made the 3 ingredient pumpkin bread after reading your blog. He loves stirring things, so this was a big hit.
Thanks!
hi katie!
saw these today and thought of you!

Katie,
I have wanted to blog for a while now but with a new baby and all that that entails… <3 <3 <3 I have wondered if anyone would even be interested in, much less read!
Your blog is wonderful! Kudos to you! I love it and am delighted to have found!
You have a fan! And you inspired me!
Hey Katie! Just wanted to let you know that something’s up with your photography website link on the sidebar.. and actually just the site in general. Hopefully you’re doing an update and it’s just temporarily down.. Every time I go to the site, there’s a domain error message.
p.s. there are obviously more than 4 of us that love ‘hearing’ what you have to say!
Hi Katie!
I just wanted to say I absolutely LOVE your blog! I have learned so much and have gotten so inspired by your amazing work in your home(s).
I just want to let you know that I featured your blog under the “Blogs I love (and you will too!)” section of my website. I’m just starting out in the DIY and blogging world so it’s great to have blogs like yours to keep me motivated!
Great work!
Heather
aww thanks Heather! I am always honored to be included in blog rolls….seriously it makes me smile so much my face hurts.

Hi!
I love your living room striped rug…may I ask where you found it? Thanks you!
It’s from the Pottery Barn outlet…I think it’s Williams Sonoma.
xo – kb
What color green is painted in your living room? I love it and have been looking for the right shade of green and thats it:)
I have no idea! I wish I knew but that is the color that was there when we moved in
xo – kb
This is totally random and not timely at all…but when I saw it, I thought of you and your cute spider Halloween front door decor. Pretty cute, huh?

Hi Katie – I just attempted my own starburst mirror and wanted to ask you 1) did you consider filling in the cracks between shims with wood putty? If so, why did you decide against it? and 2) How big is yours in diameter? Mine feels ridiculously huge!!
Thanks so much. Love your blog, your honesty, and your sense of humor is refreshing! Tara
It is big! And that is one reason I love it – people don’t give enough credit to the chunky mirror

And I didn’t fill in with wood putty only because I liked the distinct texture of separate wood shims…I’m sure that it could look cool any way you do it though

Hi, Katie! I just love your blog so much and look forward to checking it once my Gunner Boy and my Nash Potato are napping each afternoon! My twin sister and I are die hard readers and we call eachother about the blog! Keep up the good work, Katie and many prayers for you and your family! God Bless
KATIE JO YOu totally made my day!
xo – kb
No, Katie! You made mine! It’s been my goal to get you to comment because I understand how completely overwhelmed with comments you must be and I appreciate you taking the time to write back! Seriously, can’t wait to call Karla and tell her:)
Tell her I said HI!

Hey Katie! I heart your blog and your creative style. I actually need your help. I have a “faux” wooden serving table that I am assuming is lacquer(sp?) but has the wood grain look. If I prime and paint it chocolate brown, do you think I could still glaze it with the glazing process or what could I do to make it look like a wooden piece with a dark stain? I know I cannot stain it since it is not real wood. I can use any advice! This is a bit challenging!
Do you know what it is made of? Is it pressed board? Or metal?
If you are looking to make it look like wood with a dark stain, painting might not be the solution. It might help to just send me a photo and I can maybe make some visually educated recommendations

Hey, Katie. I sent you the picture last night. Hopefully, you can find it in the 100000 emails you receive…only because you are so awesome or suffer from something I call “total awesomeness.” Thanks girlie. God bless.
I just found a piano in Atlanta on craigslist for $75!! Miht need some refinishing, but still! It would make a great post

Hi Katie,
I love what you did with the accent wall….or I guess what Jeremy did
Did you guys just nail the plywood to the sheetrock….and what size plywood did you use? We are moving soon and I can’t decide if I want to do that to my son’s room or our room???? LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! Maybe we will do it to both
Melissa Bibber (MN)
The plywood was just the standard cheapo stuff – I think it’s 3/8″ but I could be wrong.

Hi Katie, I know this information isn’t really relavant to anything (well, in some ways it is, because you DO reference Bacon a lot) but I HAD to share this with you. Since reading your Blog (daily) I think of you now everytime I think, see, eat or smell bacon. So…you must read this…http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46895317/ns/us_news-weird_news/
Enjoy!
Katie,
Thanks so much for sharing your breastfeeding story. Mine was very similar (including the guilt over previous judgie behavior toward non-nursing moms, and the pure rage I felt toward the statement, “if you’re doing it right, it shouldn’t hurt.”.) My little one ended up in the NICU for 2 days after an unexpected C-section, making the beginning tough. I also had a serious supply drop at 5 months after I went back to work which made me turn into a crazy person, pumping in the morning before work, during every break, and before bed. Tonight my 11 month old wouldn’t nurse before bed, and I’m feeling pretty weepy. Props to you for your stubbornness. Thanks again for sharing.
Hi Katie
I follow your post all the way from a small city in New Zealand (bottom of the world- we like to think it is the top!).
I found this on Pinterest today and it just made me think of you and your struggle while waiting for child number 2.
Love this, it’s the sort of thing you could frame and have in your house.

Hey Katie,
I absolutely love the fabric on Will’s 2nd birthday table (the blue and white). Do you remember where you got it or at least the name of it?
Thanks!
Emily

Thought I’d share this with you since I know how much you love Bacon!

Hi Katie,
I have a question about a post you had about month back, about caring for your loveseat & sofa slipcovers. I just wondered what brand they are and where you purchased them! I was really thinking of doing white slipcovers in our livingroom and have no idea what a good quality one is! Thanks for your help and love your blog! I just started following you about 2 months back and love reading your posts. You give me inspiration for my hubbie & I to tackle some DIY things in our home. Thank you! ~Angie
Ours was a slipcovered couch from Pottery Barn outlet…it came with the slipcover so I don’t know where you can get one seperately.

Hi Katie,
Just a little post to tell you how much I love your blog ! I live in France and I feel blessed to have a 70m2 flat (750 sq ft) for my husband, my 21 month old girl and I, so I’m totally dreaming when I see your posts..
Thanks a lot – merci beaucoup
Sandrine
Hi Katie! Merry Christmas. My family jut moved Ito our second house just intone for Christmas. My clothes are still in boxes but the tree is up! We inherited an oak table and chairs like the red ones in your house. I was wondering if you’d painted those yourself? I looked through the archives but didn’t see anything. I’d love some tips if you did. Have a great day!
-Katie
Yes I did! Here is the link.

Hi Katie…
Happy Holidays!
Just wondering what wireless shutter release you have for your camera and if you like it. It would have been so helpful during our family DIY Christmas photos!
Thanks,
Kelly
I just have a cheap one. I think it was twenty bucks on Amazon.
