Here’s a little last minute Halloween craft that you moms can do with your toddlers. It’s super simple…relatively short (for their miniature sized attention spans) and requires very little materials.
You need paint (black, gray or silver would be most realistic), a matching crayon, some paper (your Picasso’s canvas) and a little plate (to coral the mess) and I recommend a wet paper towel (for cleanup).
It’s really simple.
1. strip um down. please note Will’s tummy art. Remember how we are rednecks and Will wanted a tat of the chinese symbol of six point buck? consider that done.
2. dip a finger in the paint and create some fingerprint dots on your canvas.
Will did best (aka didn’t attempt to eat the paint) when I helped hold his hand.
3. Then take the matching crayon and draw eight little legs on each dot.
How cute is Will’s little spider infestation? I especially love the little babies on the side. Very realistic. Like a little hive has just hatched. Will must be learning from the nature channel when I’m off frying bacon.
of course, I had to do one too. I’m competitive like that. You got nothin on me Will. granted yours look like spiders and mine look like ants. but let me assure you…when you are old enough to read this, that my painted insects are mutant vicious spider-eating ants…just crawling over the web that they just overtook after devouring your black widows like bits of potato salad at a picnic. Ponder that my toddler…ponder that.
This might be another craft that you could use for home made cards for the grandparents or even cute for pumpkin-decorating with your tot.
Or if you are just really into finger painting…in which case…don’t let the grown ups bring you down 🙂
