…is not a phrase that makes me wanna pick up an item and run.
(Although I know that there are some people out there that dial in to score something on an infomercial everyday…Snuggies anyone?!?)
But blankets-that-resemble-monk’s-ensemble aside, when I saw the little “AS SEEN ON TV” on this package of Magic Sliders…it gave me great security knowing that at least 200 million other people might regret this purchase as much as I do.
But guess what happened?
I didn’t regret it. Not one little bit. In fact, I feel proud that I am part of the Magic Sliders crew. But first let me tell you how it went down.
We have these great stools in our kitchen:
And we also have hardwood floors that we painstakingly installed by hand. But you see the wood floor is not protected from the bottoms of the stool legs. In fact, everytime my boyfriend would Swiffer, he noticed more and more minor scratch marks on the floor due to the chairs.
So, we went to the local hardware store to find a solution. There were felt bottoms and screw-in-pads for chair legs and all sort of different products for protecting your hardwoods. But then the Magic Sliders caught our eye.
Mostly because of the shape and cost. They were the only stick-on types that we saw that were 8 in a package (enough to do 2 chairs). Plus they were the cheapest. So we snagged a couple packages and headed home.
Installation was really simple.
First we hoisted up our chairs,
then cleaned off the bottom of each stool foot (who knew that dust bunnies would actually adhere themselves to the bottom of a stool?!?!),
and tore open the package. Inside were stickies and sliders.
Each sticky had two sides of peely paper. One side was sticky for stickage to the slider,
and the other side was peeled off to stick the slider to the stool.
Perfect fit huh?
And now, (after much pregnant-girl-testing) the stools have not scraped up the floor anymore. I honestly don’t know why we didn’t do it earlier. For under $10 and 10 minutes, we have a such relief knowing that each one of our 1,580 lb friends can sit and readjust their seat without scuffing up the floor. It’s sheer bliss.
It was so simple that I figure there must be more little products out there that could make our life stress-free. Anybody know of one? Anyone try Magic Sliders? Or maybe you have tried a “As Seen On TV” product before and it was a complete waste of money? Or maybe, just maybe, you thought this entire post was a different kind of Magic Sliders…the mini burgers made completely outta bacon. Mmmmm….now that’s magical 🙂
