Remember how I had asked if our dining room would look good if we added trim as paneling to the walls? And the majority of you said to go for it…so as a very obedient middle child, I did what you said to do.
We added paneling in our dining room.
(!!! happy dance – with a little shoulder shake!)
And I love it.
But first, before we get to see the full step-by-step play-by-play, let me just remind you of how our dining room looked before we ventured into the land of faux paneled walls.
and after a little photoshop magic, we thought that it might end up looking like this:
And are you ready for the grand reveal?
Can you possibly hold your bladder any longer?
Is the anticipation absolutely killing you?
Do you want to scratch your eyeballs from reading these stupid questions?
Ok – then let’s do this bad boy!
Presenting the newly faux paneled dining room – completed with molding and a little paint 🙂
And the before and after – for all you “I need to see side-by-side-comparisons” people…oh wait…that’s just me.
I love it. Did I say that already?
Because I do. Looooove it.
The whole room just lost weight – and became more neutral and I am just LOVING how the upper color on the dining room walls (Dusty Trail by Olympic) is able to cameleon-ize to whatever color I use as the table setting. We already knew that it went well with the torquise but now seeing it with red accents, it really almost changes colors to become warm yet still really crisp.
So what do you think?
Did we make the right decision?
Was it a move in the better direction?
I need feedback people…lots of feedback. Sortof like when you think you are head over heels for a boy and then your friends tell you that he is gross and then all of a sudden you discover that indeed-he-is-a-punk-with-too-much-hair-gel. Kinda like that. Or it could go the other way – he could be like a volunteer at the local animal shelter and you just discovered your soul mate. So which one is it?!?! Is this dining room my hair-gellin’ nightmare or my puppy-lovin hero?!?!
Oh – and tomorrow I will get out the play-by-play that I promised on how to do this at home so stay tuned!
