I almost forgot to show how we resolved the issue with our drainage ditch.
In the front yard, we have one of those huge drainage pipes that goes under our driveway. I know. Classy. But since the house is on the side of a hill, we kinda like the fact that the water runoff goes under the concrete rather than tearing it apart the way female tweens would Zac Efron.
So the water runs through the pipe, continuing through our newly soded lawn (it’s almost like God’s sprinkler system just for us and that 10×60 patch of bermuda) and then here:
So we gathered up all the rocks that we encountered and threw them into a giant stone pile. Even very small stones.
What else floats? bread…apples….very SMALL STONES! (name that movie)
Anyhoo…we ended up laying out the stones flat so that the mud wouldn’t wash away and so we could give a nice separation from the road to the bed and the woods to the sod.
Kinda like a cobblestone drainage ditch. Who’s classy now?!
Yeah that’s what I thought.
This is one of our WIPP (work in progress projects) that will continue as long as we find stones.
Hopefully ours won’t float 🙂
