We left off the basement play by play with the drywalled basement.
Next up?
The mud.
Our biggest bane when redoing the upstairs was the mudding process.
It killed us.
Seriously.
We absolutely abhored the mudding and sanding process.
And our lungs decided right then and there that air should be breathed only when non-dusty.
Drywall dust makes air…well…clear as mud.
So it comes as no surprise that we actually hired a guy who was recommended to us by a friend to mud the basement.
His estimate was the first one we received and it turned out to be the best.
For only $650 Wayne, our mud man, was going to finish off our walls. This was under the terms that he was going to give us a flat ceiling, mud the living space, the bedroom and the hallway with the stairs, as well as provide the supplies. In the end, we figured that the supplies probably cost him half of what he charged us.
And we didn’t mind one bit that we could breathe actual oxygen.
And there is no doubt in my mind that Wayne is going to die a slow and painful death from dust inhalation.
I would know.
I died last year.
I am still mostly dead.
