Never did I ever. Never did I ever think that the day would come when my little baby….WILLIAM would be old enough to start second grade. Nope. I distinctly remember a friend of mine who was a second grade teacher tell me stories about how her students would be like mini adults….with the drama and emotional reactions and big realistic and sometimes unrealistic dreams and were learning about ALL the things. And now…my sweet first born is dreaming his big realistic and sometimes unrealistic dreams with all the drama and emotional reactions and learning ALL the things. I might lose it. Like freak out ala Brit 2007 and beat time with an umbrella and a buzz cut.
AND IT DOESN’T STOP THERE. My Weston and LJ both started preschool this morning….like champions. And they didn’t shed a single tear and they were all super excited about their new back packs and shoes. Why my kids are so excited about new shoes is beyond me….but kicks must be their love language.
Will and Weston showed LJ the ropes about our first day of school tradition….a yummy breakfast followed by pictures on the porch. We have done photos in this same spot each year and I think LJ was BEAMING with pride over joining the big boys. Generally speaking, LJ is very satisfied calling himself “little” and has no desire to be a “big boy”…..but not this morning. This morning he rocked it out.
Since Will actually started school a couple weeks ago, I had snapped photos on his first day separately….and I feel like he’s already changed.
He had picked out his outfit (I called him the human highlighter because he is obsessed with the brightest colors possible!) and now he got a new haircut (he said he wanted to ditch the mohawk and have a ‘bald’ haircut) and his front tooth is almost all the way in!
And don’t even get me started on these two….
Seriously their personalities just KILL me. And honestly I can not wait for LJ’s hair to grow out. I miss it so much and so does he. And Weston got to wear his favorite….all black (like “Badman” aka Batman) and picked out a new Spiderman backpack.
I only had to take about 86 photos to get TWO where he looked at the camera 🙂
Just look at that grin….like he owns the place (admittedly he knows he can get away with murder if he just gives me snuggles….so yeah, he owns the place).
LJ picked his own pose. He is normally not such a ham but for today….well….he knew he looked good 🙂
CAN’T EVEN. THAT SMILE!
And honestly nobody was more excited than me. As much as I miss them and love them and even though it is only a few hours a few days a week….it was such a relief to only have Max at home. We got to spend so much time with him one on one….a sticker book, a new Curious George book, a special trip to Chick-fil-A and the stone yard….it was super low key but nobody yelled which is a miracle in the Bower house and it felt like maybe having another baby sometime soon isn’t such a crazy idea 🙂
Stay tuned for tomorrow – fence tutorial is coming at you!
