We are saving for new floors right now, and would love to get rid of our old carpet – especially since I spilled bleach in the laundry room, which made its way to the carpet and now we have a big patch of no carpet in front of the laundry room doors.

New living room furniture is my “would be nice”. We’re going on 15 years with our couch and overstuffed chair (can you say ’90’s?) and hand me down wingbacks. Love them but it would be nice to update beyond reupholstery, pillows and throws.

We are selling our current house and our new house isn’t ready to close yet (it’s a foreclosure and we just found out there are title issues as well as boundary line issues). We’ll be living in a 5th wheel for a while (I’m hoping a month or less, since I’m 15 weeks pregnant, have a four year old daughter, and work full time). I’m learning that there is SO MUCH that is not really needed, it just ‘would be nice.’ Shoot, a laundry room in the same vicinity as the 5th wheel would be nice! 🙂

“Impressions is Impressive!” Ironically, it would be our floors. We have several mismatched floors (two different kinds of laminate, original hard wood, two different tiles, and some carpet. Consistent flooring is definitely in the nice to have category, but each room functions as it is.

Oh man!! Impressions is impressive!!! I would love love love new floors. The carpet installed in my house when I built it is cheap and the seams are horrible and the pets have picked at corners. It’s just embarrassing! I dream of ripping it up and putting down cork or some other durable flooring. Living on a single gal income, I can’t quite afford that. My “would be nice” list includes a fence for my dogs. That would be so lovely.

Wowza! What a fabulous giveaway!! So many things on my ‘would be nice’ list! A new fridge that does not attract kids fingerprints!!!, a redone master closet (we have the builders lovely wire shelf with 1 hanging bar), a teak shower insert (dreaming), and of course wood floors!! It’s on our list of improvements to do in the next couple of years, but winning a fantastic giveaway would be ridiculous!

It’s white, it’s new and we have a shedding black haired dog, I would love wood floors not only for aesthetics but to hide some of the hair so I don’t have to sweep every day.

We’re planning on doing the labor ourselves, and I’m just over 4 months pregnant at the moment, so we need to get moving on these projects before I’m past the point of no return. I remember crying while finishing baseboards at 8 months pregnant in my last house, and I will definitely NOT be repeating that move this time around! 🙂

My would be nice would be extending out my front porch. Its like a 5’x5′ lifted square and I would love it to be longer so I could actually use it for something other than dumping my groceries while I unlock the door.

My hubby and I recently bought a rehabbed home, but only the first floor has hardwood flooring. The second floor has low grade carpeting and we are looking to install hardwood. This is not even a ‘would be nice’ option because I have allergies and it’s pain trying to keep the carpet as ‘clean’ as possible.

We have a (grimy and broken, not vintage-y cute) bubblegum pink bathroom from the 50s that is a major wish item. It is functional enough that we can’t justify spending money on it though. Saving for foundation work instead!

Our main floor gets A LOT of traffic as I am sure all main living floors and the wear and tear on our laminate floors is starting to cause them to show their age. About 11 years ago when we moved into our home that we are still, slowly but surely, remodeling, we pulled up the dingy carpet in our bedroom and stained the concrete for a quick fix. Right now, my mind is all about the “need right now” and the “need eventually” because we’re about to move into our first house! Of course, I have already started a list of what needs to be done: repaint the all the rooms, replace the broken-down fridge, washer, and dryer that the previous owners “kindly” left us, replace the old carpets with hardwood, clear the backyard of mulch so grass and plants can actually grow, bring the water heater up to code, retro-fit the garage for earthquake safety (yay, California), properly wire the garage so it’s not a tangle of extension cords that the owner used (to the extent which the inspector said was illegal due to being a fire hazard)… so, it’s not 100% move-in ready. We got a good deal, but there’s so much to do!
I’ve been so busy lately that my “would be nice” includes a piña colada and sunshine. And maybe a foot massage.

I think it’s a pretty great coincidence that my “would be nice” is hardwood flooring for the whole first level of my home! Right now, it’s full of ugly, cheap brown carpeting that the previous owners installed right before they put the house up for sale. We had too many other things to replace after we bought the house to justify ripping out the then-brand-new carpeting but it’s time!

It would be so nice to have new flooring. We have spent the last year painting my honey oak cabinets, and putting in a new quartz countertop that my flooring had to wait. Imagine, the most hideous, horrible, ugly 1980’s Armstrong floor in my kitchen…that stretches all the way down the hallway, into my powderoom….and its even in my laundry room. It would be nice to not have subfloor as the flooring on our main level. We ripped out the gross carpeting left by the previous owner and have yet to make flooring a priority. So, it would be FANTASTIC to get some beautiful flooring to cover up the Kilz paint style we’ve been sporting.

We’re in the middle of closing on a house so our ‘would be nice’ list is about a mile long since we haven’t gotten our paws on the new property yet. However, I think built-in bookshelves and a new garage door are at the top of the ‘nice’ list.

It would be nice to have new cabinets and counter tops. We just installed them for our house last month, then turned around and sold the house last week, and now we are buying a home with the same old cabinets and counters!! The floors are okay but I would LOVE to change them out 🙂

There are plenty of things in the first two categories for me that take precedence, but in the “would be nice” category, I would say either our kitchen counter/ backsplash combination new outdoor shutters. I would like to change the look of what’s there in addition to just the color and getting rid of the peeling paint.

Flooring would be great for us . . . it’s definitely in that category. We have carpet everywhere and no hardwood underneath so the chances of us getting hardwoods ever is fairly slim. It’s what we wish we had though!

My would be nice is actually my flooring! We bought a foreclosure & the bank was nice enough to replace the nastycarpet but they put the cheapest ugliest carpet they could find in as a replacement. Needless to say my dog & 3 yr old have ruined it in just 2yrs.

Since I’m in the processs of selling our current house and buying a new one there are a TON of things that fall into the “Would be nice” list… If I had to pick just one I’d say a front loader washer & dryer for the new house. Ours are in good shape and aren’t that old BUT how awesome would a nice new colorful set look in our new, huge, laundry room! 🙂

What WOULD be nice is new flooring. When we bought our house four years ago, it was covered with the dingiest, cheapest carpet made and unimpressive bubbling laminate!

As far as “would be nice” goes, hardwood floors would be right up there! Also, repainting the downstairs would be nice…it was just painted a year ago before we bought it, but I’d love to make it more “me”, but for now it is totally liveable. Another would be nice for us is landscaping – more specifically lawn service – our grass needs *serious* help!

i would love a new floor! the previous owners of my fix-er-upper painted the (un sanded, unprepped) floors with…. wait for it…. WALL PAINT!!!! and left me “touch up” paint, which i feel like i use daily, expecially with dog paws constantly running on it!
I am in dier need of redoing them, but cant bring myself to blow so much of my budget for other smaller projects … so me and my sponge brush hang out weekly now 🙁

New living room flooring is actually on the “needed yesterday” list for us. Seriously. Right now we have frayed, loose carpet and exposed carpet tacks going on. It is not pretty.
Top of my “would be nice” list is a roof and columns over the back patio patio. Protection from the evening sun would make it much more useful… but probably isn’t something we’ll be tackling in the near future (if at all).
We were lucky to pull up pea green carpeting in each room of our house to reveal the original hardwood except for the kitchen. There, we have 50 year old, ugly brown, orange and yellow linoleum. Would love to replace with hardwood!

I have so many things in the would be nice category, no more popcorn ceilings, crown molding, but the main one is probably the flooring!!!! In our 1700 square foot home we have 6 types of flooring, 6! Carpet in the hall and bedrooms, 70s linoleum in the bathrooms (2), dark hardwoods in the den/kitchen, light faux hard wood in the dining/living, and laminate faux hardwood in the bonus room. What I wouldn’t give for them to match!!

The seller replaced the joists for us prior to our purchase, but unfortunately some of the hardwood flooring has termite damage still. It would be amazing to replace our floors instead of puttying little holes or replacing strips! It’s one of those “would be nice” things because it’s just not in our budget right now. Carpet covers a multitude of sin, but my knowing it exists is enough to drive me batty! 🙂

I needed new hardwood flooring yesterday! Well, actually we needed beautiful new floors 29 days ago when a second-floor bathroom leak destroyed our living room floors below. As we pick up the pieces and deal with insurance claims, I certainly attest that Impressions is Impressive, and so is this giveaway! I suppose any alternative to our current concrete subfloor is a “need yesterday,” but Impressions’ gorgeous Piedmont collection would be really, really nice!

Hardwood/great quality laminate flooring had been on our to-do list for quite sometime, but has unfortunately been pushed to the back burner for other items that fell into – the must do now category. But the recent comps in my neighborhood have me thinking it is money down the drain and I should just get the Allure Ultra vinyl planks instead thanks to all of the foreclosures and low selling prices in the past 6 months. New flooring would be a game changer for us. Also, a new washer and dryer are on the list. The dryer no longer shuts off on its own (fire hazard!) I’m oddly drawn to any washing machine that sounds like an ice cream truck and is red or silver metallic paint. LOL!

Solar would be nice. With temperatures reaching 115+ in the summer (Arizona) and with my boyfriend not being able to part with his Xbox, our electricity bill gets a little nuts! Cheap me refuses to go set the thermostat lower than 80 degrees. Feeling hot? Stick your face in the freezer. Hah.

New floors? “NEED YESTERDAY!” The previous owner installed our (laminate) floors incorrectly, so they’re wearing in a strange way. The floors that were brand new 4 years ago already look ancient. 🙁

Impressions is Impressive! I would LOVE LOVE LOVE this opportunity. Last May (a year ago on Wednesday, actually) we bought our current home. I have focused on the bedrooms mostly, painting each of them, and even spending a good bit of time on our back patio. We have a BEAUTIFUL formal dining room that is blank. Empty. Not.a.single.thing.in.it. Except for really pretty lighting fixtures from the previous owner. Oh, and dingy carpet. The hubs and I have dreamed of hand-scraped flooring, dark gray walls featuring an accented wall stencil, and a dining table that he wants to make. Yes, MAKE. Oh, how I would love to tear out the hideous linoleum floors in our kitchen. We did a huge DIY kitchen makeover last summer: new white/gray granite counters, painted our cabinets, tore down a wall to make a breakfast bar, new sink, new stainless hood. But the floors didn’t make the budget. This year we used our tax refund on a landscaped backyard for the kiddos… but those kitchen floors are still itchin’ to be replaced.

my would be nice list includes new flooring….we currently have carpeting on our first floor that is over 20 years old and disgusting, but funds to replace it aren’t in line currently. with our first child on the way (due in september), i would love to have some hardwoods installed to allow her to freely crawl around (when the time comes) without having to worry what level of dirt and grossness lurks beneath her every step.

Our next “would be nice” is putting new windows on our house. Ours are…fine, but could be nicer and much easier to clean.
Impressions is impressive! Would be nice – Well new hardwood flooring of course to rip out the carpet in my family room. On the other hand, a deck. I have a deck that some genius built around a tree. Not the nice tree with seats around it type. This kind has a big oak that is pushing up against it and has to be cut (the tree or the deck) as it grows. Boards are popping up. You get the picture. My Dad even has nightmares of it knocking down a wall to my house.
New flooring would be oh so nice. Our new home has different shades of beige carpet in all of the upstairs bedrooms. It would be nice if the flooring matched, especially in wood.

My house is carpeted, the only way to my backyard is through the living room slider (which has, you guessed it, all carpet), and I have three dogs. This is not a good combination. I spend more time than I’d care to admit chasing down dogs, trying to wipe the SC red clay off their paws before they “decorate” the downstairs carpet.

The living room has the original maple hardwood flooring which is in pretty terrible shape. It sure would be nice to replace it with nice new hardwood! Not only that, but let’s face it… sanding old hardwood flooring is NOT a fun job, but demolishing old, and replacing with new… REALLY FUN!

Actually, hardwood flooring is one of those things that are on my “It would be nice” wish list. Our new house has hardwood in great condition on the first floor, but carpet in old, worn and pulling up condition on the second floor. We think we can live with it for a few more years, but we’ll definitely have to replace it before we can sell the house. I’d love to be able to have a house with hardwood flooring throughout!!

Impressions is Impressive! Our “would be nice” list includes a new stove/dishwasher/fridge, new windows, and of course, new hardwood floors. We are having our floors refinished instead of replacing them, BUT at this point, I’m ready to start ripping the damaged boards up myself (which I’m sure would work out ohsosmoothly! /endsarcasm). We’re having a friend/professional do the refinishing, at a super great discount to us, but after emptying the contents of 2 out of 3 bedrooms into the small one car garage 2 MONTHS AGO, I’m getting antsy waiting for him to find time to help us! Living amongst chaos is not a strength of mine. And to top it off/not being one to waste time sitting around, we decided to gut/glorify the powder room while we wait for him to free up his schedule. Don’t get me wrong – having friends who can help you with major projects is great – its just TOTALLY not for the impatient. 🙂

We’ve been living with cracked and peeling linoleum in the kitchen since we moved in 5 years ago and concrete in the hallway where we had to rip out the carpet and pad due to the dog frequently peeing there. Every single time I wash it I wonder a) how old it is b) what my husband would do if I just ripped it up while is at work and c) when I can win the lottery because having a big kitchen is awesome until you try and price out flooring.

The current one works, but it is so loud, that we have to scream at each other when were on the other side of the house. A conversation in the kitchen while the dishawsher is running, is not even attmpted. I’m trying to make it break so then it would move into “need yesterday” category.

I really want to replace the old tile in our kitchen/dining room with wood floors. The grout is cracking, the tile is chipping and it’s really hard to clean (and keep clean!). This would be an amazing prize to help with that!

Beautiful dark wood floors would be absolutely wonderful! Tops on the list at the moment are having a contractor come in and paint my two story living room walls that I’ve put off for long enough. But replacing the kool-aid stained carpeting in my office/kids room is an equal must!

Wow, awesome giveaway! Thanks, Katie Bower! 🙂 When we bought our house, we thought carpeting was the way to go… it was all I knew growing up and I love the softness element of it. Now? I’m done. Ready for hardwoods. This giveaway could not come at a better time. Ready to deliver my baby boy in 5 weeks (or less!) and will be transitioning to being a stay-at-home mom! Would love to make the switch from carpet to hardwood then too… seems so much easier to clean and maintain and I just love the look.
Besides the floor, another “would be nice” thing on my list is a fenced in back yard. With the stay-at-home mom transition, it’d be nice to actually use our backyard more as the kids grow up and not have to worry about them running out of the yard. We have an easement in the back that our neighbors were able to get rid of and I can’t wait until we can do that and then fence our (bigger) yard in… it will nearly double our yard size if we can plow that sucker! 🙂

A new rug for the living room would be nice as we exchange one couch out for another and the coloring of the room switches but flooring is moving up on our list to more necessity. We discovered our 1940s home has no sub-floor and with some of the original floor splintering and us being able to see into the crawl space in little bits we need to figure it out and possibly just do new flooring on top of the existing one.

My husband and I purchased our home (a brand new build) in October of 2010. We didn’t get to pick any of the finishes, so they aren’t my favorite but since we only plan to live here a couple more years (before putting it up as a rental), it doesn’t make sense for us to spend a lot of money changing out the basic finishes to suit my tastes. Our carpet is definitely low quality and, despite my constant cleaning, it has never looked very nice. I would LOVE hardwood floors to really spruce up the place.
