Let’s get all estrogeny up in here, shall we?!
That’s right folks…let’s do one uber-girly table setting. This time my goal was to set the table for something I would actually do for my own dear mother. When I imagine what I would do for Mommy-dearest, it would be a tea party for two….just her and me.
Nothing says girly girl better than a ruffled edge dish and a pastel color palette and a few hobnail candlesticks or lacy textures.
And pink ribbon. It’s absolutely necessary. Lots and lots of ribbon.
For the centerpiece, I used a ribbon plate (they were called Dress Me Up plates from Southern Living at Home) and a vase with flowers.
I also put in my simplest teapot and a tiered plate holder for the tea and brunchy biscuits that I imagined I would make. by hand. from scratch. and they would taste fantastic 🙂
The flowers were just one of those basic bouquets from Walmart. I took out all the bright colors and used just the flowers that had soft colors and pretty textures. Those yellow ones are my absolute favorite. I have no idea what they are called but HOLYCOW.
Because the vase that is holding it would obviously not be able to hold water…what with the hundreds of holes…I slipped an old spaghetti sauce jar inside to hold my flowers water cup. It all disappears once it’s dropped down inside.
Anyone want to tell me what type of flower that is? And send me them everyday?
Oh and just in case my mother was hungry, I could also serve her some lemons in cupcake wrappers.
Seriously though…if this was real, those plates would be filled with yummy sandwiches and fruit as a garnish.
So there is my most feminine tablesetting ever. It would also work for a brunch you want to do with your grandmother, your neighbor, your favorite lady from your bunco group or bible study. It’s really versatile…and basically, everyone can have three simple things for your centerpiece (tiered plate holder, a vase with flowers, and a little sign that states how you feel.) Men that happen to read this…major major bonus points if you do this for your lady.
